Takarazuka is home to the Takarazuka Revue which is performed by girls only. The first performance was given in 1914. The performers, who belong to the Takarazuka Revue Company, are divided into five groups, “Flower,” “Moon,” “Snow,” “Star,” and “Cosmos.” In Japan, many famous actresses and singers are ex-members of this company. Those who wish to see a Takarazuka show must buy tickets in advance. To get there, take the JR or Hankyu Takarazuka line and get off at Takarazuka Station. It is a 40 min. ride from Osaka (Umeda).
