Thema Area Habikino

The Takenouchi-Kaido Trail, connecting Osaka with Asuka, is the oldest national highway. There are a lot of historical places of ancient history in particular, to visit along the highway.
A 20-minute ride on Minami Osaka Railway from Kintetsu Abenobashi or Tennoji Station to Furuichi Station. The name Habikino comes from the Swan Legend. Legend says that Yamatotakeruno-Mikoto, who unified Japan in ancient time, was reborn as a swan and flew away here. The trail weaves through mounds in the Tumulus period constructed from the Ojin Mausoleum on down to Asuka.
