Murou has only 1-hour distance from the central part of Osaka city. However the nature and cultural heritage has been remained in the village, and it is so beautiful.
Five storied pagoda in Murou temple rebuilted in the summer of 2000, which was damaged by heavy rain of typoon.
There is an Onodera magaibutsu, stone image of the buddha, over the little stream which flows in front of the Muroguchi-Ono sta. We recommend you to stay aound Muroji temple if you spend comfortable time in the south part of Nara.

Murou-ji Temple
It’s established in the end of Nara period. Women were not allowed to enter Koyasan area. However in Murou area it was allowed. That is why this is called “Nyonin Koya (Koya for men)”. That has the shortest five stories pagoda. We can look at rhododendron in the early summer, red leaves in fall.

Murou no Sato
Murou no sato is the flower Garden located at the slope of the village. We can look at Murou Mountain. We can enjoy rose, peony, salamis, hydrangea corresponding to seasons.

Murou Ryuketsu jinja Shrine
It’s venerable shrine to pray for rain. In the Heian period, the god of shrine is “Takaokaminokami”. The messenger of the emperor visited here when it’s short of the rain.

Kissho Ryuketsu
It is a cave located at the gorge of 20 minutes’walk. It takes 20 minutes to reach there. It is one of Murou sanryuuketsu(Three dragon’s holes in Murou). It’s said that the god of dragon lives in the God of dragon’s hole. The pure water spread out from the hole.
